Overview
Mangalayatan University has taken appropriate steps to create an ecosystem for innovations by recruiting experts in various fields and developing state of the art infrastructure primarily for the creation and transfer of knowledge. The University has already established the incubation centre named as University Innovation & Incubation Centre (UIIC). The UIIC is a Non-profit Centre dedicated to promote innovation and Entrepreneurship through the Incubation Centre. The purpose of UIIC is to incubate and materialize the conceptual ideas among the students and faculty members of Mangalayatan University and other similar Institutions and transform these ideas into value added products in the commercial market.
University Innovation and Incubation Centre, Mangalayatan University (UIIC) is a business incubator that works on an amalgamation of innovation, technology and business principles, it has been formed to help out start-ups and self-employment in their journey towards becoming successful entrepreneurs through its hallmark business assistance services, it would render much needed support to companies emergent their way into the business world.
The incubated companies will have access to corporate like workspaces, domain expert mentors and cutting-edge labs to take their innovative idea to emerge out into a successful and profitable business venture.
The University’s prime motive is not only to develop pharmacist, lawyers, managers, researchers, media professionals and Doctors but professionals with human values who make noteworthy contributions to the society.
UIIC is a flagship initiative to promote the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in India. It is an umbrella structure that has been mandated to promote innovation and revolutionize the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country.
Mangalayatan University and National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate students to start their own business venture. Several steps including Incubation Cell at the University have been announced by the authority. This new initiative would provide ample opportunity from academic knowledge to technical and financial support to students for fulfilling their dreams.
Er. T.S. Rajput, Director Incubation
He has more than 38 years of experience in the field of technology innovation and Entrepreneurship culture building. He worked in NSIC, Ministry of MSME (Govt. of India Enterprise) in the capacity of General Manager responsible for Technical and Incubator Centers. He is well trained and certified from APO, Japan for Quality Management and Knowledge Management based on Industry 4.0. He is good trainer in the field of Energy Audit, Entrepreneurship, Quality Audit, ISO 9001:2015 QMS, Leadership, Work culture, Enhancement of Productivity etc.
Mr. Rajesh Panchasara, Dy. Director, Incubation
He has over 25 years of experience in entrepreneurship training, development, mentoring, technology awareness, up-gradation, transfer. He worked with Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India for 13 years. Also worked on STED project with the Department of Science & Technology (GOI) for 12 years and awarded by Ministry of Science & Technology (GOI). Worked on Agriculture Entrepreneurship like green houses, net houses, renewable energy like Solar, wind and water. He has worked as a Start-up Eco system expert at L.M. Collage of Pharmacy - Ahmadabad for SSIP (Start-up and Innovation Policy) Government of Gujarat.
Aims and Objectives:
- To guide students for career options and help them to select career boosting Ventures/ Business.
- To motivate unemployed youths for self-employment.
- To create awareness of model of incubation for setting up new business enterprises.
- Opportunity for identification of appropriate technology.
- To create awareness about industry structure before starting business.
- To promote micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
- Grassroots economic development at district and State level.
- To enhance the entrepreneurial and managerial skills of the participants.
- Turning “ JOB SEEKERS” into “ JOB PROVIDERS”.
Programme Deliverables:
Guided classroom training and workshops to help students and young entrepreneurs in the following:
- Understand the risk and reward in choosing entrepreneurship as a career option
- Assist young entrepreneurs in identifying new business opportunities
- Entrepreneur business skill development.
- Identification of appropriate technology.
- Help them in making prototype.
- Create awareness about Government schemes and subsidies.
- Facilitation on fund Management through Banks.
- How to set up an enterprise
- Facilitation on project report preparation.
Incubation Coursework and Workshops:
The incubated start-ups would have to undergo several modules of the incubation
Focused Mentorship Support
Mentorship support would be provided by the incubator in the following ways:
- An Expert Faculty member from Mangalayatan University side would be assigned to each startup who would mentor and monitor the company on a day to day basis .
- The companies would have access to a selected pool of faculty members who have skills in some specialized fields.
- Pantry facilities
Monitoring and Follow up:
- Interaction meeting with the entrepreneur will be carried out to monitor the status of implementation of the project including feedback on training inputs and contents.
Providing Co-Work Space:
The companies that are selected to be incubated would be provided with co-working space at the incubator.
The facilities that a incubated company expect are:
• Office space with personal desk and chairs
• Desktop computers
• High Speed Internet
• Meeting and conference rooms
• Pantry facilities etc.
Post Training Support:
Assistance will be provided to the prospective entrepreneurs in the following areas ( if needed):
• Procurement of equipment and machinery for the selected projects.
• Installation and commissioning of projects.
Access to Labs:
The incubated companies would have access to labs not only of the incubation facility but also of the institutes of the Mangalayatan University. The access to labs would be as per the guidelines of the specific lab.
Help in Company Registration:
The incubator, through internal resources of MU or through special tie-ups, would help the start-ups in registering themselves with Registrar of Companies (RoC).
Help in IP and Patent Filing:
The incubator, through internal resources of MU or tie-up with companies specializing in that field, would help the students to understand and file for IP and Patents.
