Department of Visual & Performing arts was first established as Institutional body in 2007. After two years, this institute has been renamed as Institute of Visual Performing Arts & Research in 2009. Due to operational changes and reorganization of institute structure, IVPAR was converted to Department of Visual & Performing Arts (DVPA) again in 2015.

At present, this department comes under Faculty of Humanities. Our qualified, dedicated and renowned faculty, and a vibrantly holistic suitable campus environment for Fine Arts. We also have a Modern art gallery for displaying art objects. Recurring events of collaborative projects with prime organizations such as, U.P. Lalit Kala Academy, Sangeet Natak Academy, ICCR and ICHR are the feathers in the hat for the department. We also don the honor of receiving National and International awards for student performances.

DVPA has created ample opportunities for students through enhancing knowledge regarding various art forms and participation in National & International Events. The department also indulges in creating new job opportunities and helping society and its people for developing soft skills. DVPA is fully prepared to take up the present day challenges of Fine art education through creating awareness among students and pertain to training of modern technology in the field of Fine Arts. The department also indulges in developing new curriculum according to the current need; and creating more job opportunities among students.

An environment where experienced and novice artists both along with, performers from all walks of life work together to produce quality art, music, dance and drama in a welcoming, creative environment.

It is a place where everyone can find opportunities to support the arts using their natural talents and skills – a place of learning to learn about visual & performing arts and have an opportunity to explore and increase the quality of their artistic expression.

  • The mission of DVPA is to enlighten mind, manifest talent, develop abilities, promote creativity and preserve aesthetical values while training and encouraging students to meet the creative and intellectual challenges of the 21st century.

Objective

  • The objective of the institute is to promote Indian tradition to future generations through exposure in education and employment, thereby creating artists and audiences for generations to come.
