It started with a mission to enable students to hone the skills required to fight the challenges of society. Humanities at Mangalayatan University, is a liberal, safe and an inclusive space which identifies and nurtures the young leaders of this country giving them ample opportunities to dream and discover.
Department of Arts at MU is a rich amalgamation of traditional and unconventional methods boasting of distinctness and creditability. Since its establishment, the Department of Arts has been encouraging critical thinking and motivating students to edify their disposition. In pursuit of providing academic and scholastic ambience, the Department has always conducted - seminars, debates, group discussions, writings and research gathered in from the margins and has sheltered voices responding to the literary canons of the empire. Its academic achievement lies in nurturing the creativity and scholarly abilities of its students and preparing them to study overseas and find new and fruitful prospects.
The department has catered to the need of providing a better academic environment to students belonging to different walks of life, regions, nationalities and communities. The department has a pan-university presence for its faculty members teaching Communicative English almost a thousand students, ranging from Humanities and Commerce, Bio-Science to Engineering.
The carefully structured syllabus of different courses running by the department focuses not only on the development of communication skills of students but also includes papers incorporating themes and topics ranging from Literature, to Interdisciplinary studies, which also spreads over the idea of turning theory into practice. Its faculty members have made notable contributions in the field of translation studies by guiding and contributing UGC research projects. Committed to the pursuit of excellence in higher education, the department offers degrees at Bachelor, Masters and Ph. D levels in English Literature, Political Science, History, Sociology, and Economics.
