The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics came into existence in 2007 with the establishment of the Mangalayatan University. All these departments were earlier under the Institute of Engineering and Technology and merged into a single unit named Institute of Applied Sciences in 2015.

The Institute offers three Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs in addition to doctoral programs in all streams. Besides offering core programs, it offers academic requisites (Theory and Practical facilities) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for students of various diploma and degree courses (Bachelor of Technology, Diploma in Engineering, B.Sc. in Biotechnology, Diploma in Pharmacy, Bachelor in Pharmacy, BSc. in Agriculture, Teacher education Programs. etc.).

The Institute has a team of highly qualified and dedicated faculty members, coming together from various renowned State & Central Universities with a dedication to take this university to the zenith.
