General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) Admission 2024
General Nursing Midwifery focuses on specific areas of nursing practices such as rehabilitation, mental health care, maternity care, post-trauma care, etc. The course prepares the students to support patients and to train them in various aspects of nursing care, including general healthcare, midwifery, and community health. The course includes subjects like Medical Surgical Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery, Gynecological Nursing etc. Both theory and practical are part of the course. The admissions are based on entrance exams conducted by the state government. There is no centralized examination. The state government conducts the entrance exam. The admissions are carried out once a year. The selection process is based on the student’s performance in the entrance exam.
GNM Nursing Eligibility Criteria
- The students must have completed 10+2 with English from a recognised senior secondary education board like ICSE/CBSE/State Board.
- The students must have a minimum of 45% at the qualifying examination and English individually for any recognized board.
- The students must be 17 years of age as of 31st December of the admitting year. The upper age limit is 35 yrs.
- Registered ANM with a pass mark can also apply.
GNM Nursing Course Duration:
The duration of the GNM Nursing course is three years. The paramedical courses are designed to equip each student with the correct skills and make them competent nurses. The admissions are based on entrance exams conducted by the state government. The course includes subjects like Medical Surgical Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery, Gynecological Nursing etc. Both theory and practical are part of the course.
