PROFILE ( PRO CHANCELLOR )

Prof Pannala Ramaiah is an alumnus of Kakatiya University. He did his MA & Ph.D. economics from Kakatiya University. He started his teaching career with undergraduate students in 1970 before he started teaching master's degree and research students in 1981. He has played long inning in the field of higher education with almost 60 years of teaching and administrative experience including 22 years of distance education.

He visited almost a Dozen of countries under various Academic programs sponsored by common wealth of learning. Visited Canada, Australia and UK as a member of Indian quality assurance in distance education. He has been a Visiting Professor at Humboldt University, Berlin (Germany) and S.K. University, Anantapur.

Starting from Registrar, he has held a numerous prestigious positions in the University environment. To name a few, he has been Director Centre for education, Director Student support services, Director Academics, Pro VC and VC for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University. He has also been member and chairman of Peer Team Group of, National assessment and Accreditations Council Bangalore.

He has published 13 books, 79 papers in prestigious Journals, and guided 23 researchers. He was selected for best teacher award by Govt. of Andhra Pradesh in 1994, best citizenship award in 2001 and was UGC Emeritus Prof at Usmania University from 2007 to 2009.
